MEET OUR DIRECTOR of WELLNESS PROGRAMS. hEIDI mACaLPINE

Heidi MacAlpine is a 1989 graduate from Quinnipiac University with a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy.
Heidi is an adjunct professor and clinical educator for Stony Brook University, Touro College, and Suffolk County Community College.
She is the creator of W.E.L.L. Matters podcast for NYSOTA and the radio show host of Meeting Your Needs.
Heidi specializes in pediatrics with 30+ years of experience in the school system and early intervention. She has worked in program development and health promotion for the last ten years, where she utilizes yoga, mindfulness, TaiChi for Arthritis, the Stepping On Program for fall prevention, Sound Therapy, and myofascial release techniques. She has implemented health and wellness concepts in various settings within the community, including mental health facilities, schools, wellness centers, corporations, and her private practice.
Heidi is the owner of W.E.L.L. Alignment on Long Island, New York. She received her doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Boston University and will continue her research on community mental health and wellness on a national and international level via Telehealth, virtual platforms e.g., zoom, radio, and podcasts.

She has shared her passion in the area of Creative Arts, which includes poetry, journaling, and drawing, with her fieldwork students, clients, and the community.
Heidi enjoys traveling, and outdoor activities such as Paddle boarding, biking, skiing, scuba diving, and boating.
